We are looking for a Sales Director to enhance our team and growth. The Sales Director is responsible for the strategic growth and revenue generation within the Performance Marketing Team. This Sales Director role is responsible for leading with vision in strategic initiatives, optimizing team performance against sales objectives, and contributing to the product development lifecycle with actionable market intelligence—three pillars that are crucial for sustaining growth and competitive advantage in the digital advertising market.

Primary Objectives:

  • Revenue Growth: Driving and maximizing sales revenue for the Performance Marketing division. Expanding customer base with new logos, increasing sales to existing customers via introducing new products and services.
  • Market Expansion: Identifying and pursuing opportunities to enter new markets or expand the company's presence in existing markets via geographic expansion or targeting new customer segments.
  • Customer Retention: Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Focus on strategies to retain and grow existing customer accounts, reducing churn, and increasing customer lifetime value.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Developing and nurture strategic partnerships.
  • Sales Enablement: Implementing tools and processes to empower the new logo sales.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leveraging data and analytics to inform sales strategies and decisions. This includes using customer data, market trends, and other relevant information to make informed choices that drive sales performance.
  • Adaptation to Market Changes: Staying agile and responsive to changes in the market, industry, or competitive landscape via adjusting sales strategies, product offerings, or go-to-market approaches based on evolving conditions.
  • Brand Building and Positioning: Contributing to the overall brand strategy by ensuring and effectively communicating the company's value proposition and maintaining a positive brand image in the market.

Detailed Job Duties:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the company’s digital display advertising business, including strategic planning, product development, team building, client prospecting, pricing, forecasting, budgeting, sales process management and creation of meaningful long-term relationships with agencies and direct advertising clients
  • Focus on selling exchange and/or network display
  • Demonstrate success achieving and surpassing seven-figure annual quotas in a fast-paced environment
  • Prospect, partner, penetrate and build relationships effectively with top display and brand agencies
  • Proactively provide marketplace feedback and competitive intelligence to internal groups to improve and enhance product offerings
  • Maximize the performance and contribution of team through mentoring, professional and best practice development, and leading by example

  • Success for the Director, Sales is typically defined by a combination of various key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes that align with the company's goals and the nature of the role.
  • Revenue Growth – Hitting and exceeding sales goals and targets

The MUST Haves:

  • Extensive track record of achievement in all types of digital advertising sales, including display, video, mobile and custom formats.
  • Possess strong and deep agency and direct client relationships
  • Must have 5+ years experience selling digital display
  • Ability to build, scale and manage online digital display advertising business.
  • Possess deep understanding of agency planning and buying process
  • Must have strong agency rolodex
  • Process oriented and innovative while effectively balancing short term and long term business needs
  • Commanding presence with ability to motivate, energize, and lead to success
  • Significant people and organizational management skills. A natural leader and mentor
  • Strong account management and relationship building experience
  • Strong analytical aptitude and results oriented with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, large audience, small-team, one-to-one)

The Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business administration is preferred.
